Everytime I open most of my favourite magazines, nine cases out of ten there is a heading emblazoned across page five saying something like….

Brangelina in Perfect Plastic Poutgate

or

Has Cheryl fallen foul of the latest cosmetic procedure?

Quite frankly, who cares?

Well, most women when they are on their lunchbreaks do. And then there are the surgery obsessive women in Argentina.

Apparently, Argentina is the place to be if you are obsessed with your body, you want perfection and you want to share your waxer with a three year old. Yes, indeed in Argentina they start ‘em young when aiming for body perfection.

So, it was with great interest and a fully raised eye brow – no botox here – that I read about the demand for plastic surgery by Argentine women.

It is fairly unbelievable. How can liposuction on your legs, stomach, arms, waist, back and a boob job be a quiet year’s work? But that is what it is! Its seen as perfectly acceptable practice to go under the knife in an attempt to create the perfect body.

As I read, it is a sorry tale of woe. Yearly body updates, eating disorders and the age old being thin = success. The horrendous comment:

Being fat is the worst thing that can happen to you

Makes me feel quite sad – surely, life is more than: can you see my ribs and hip bones but not my cellulite?

Breathing a sigh of relief that my quest for chicness does not mean I will starve myself or go under the knife, needle or any other non-invasive procedure, I reach for a fabulous glass of red and a chunk of dairy milk!

I love my iPhone. I love it even more now I have the Love it or Lose it App.

It’s going to make shopping just so much better! As anyone who knows me will testify, I can never make a fashion decision in the first shop I go to. It’s always a day long trawl around seventeen shops only to return to the first shop and buy the first thing I saw. Intensely irritating I know.

So this marvellous little app will make my life so much easier. All I do is the find the item of my dreams, take a photo and post it to my fellow devoted fashionistas in the Love it or Lose it community and wait for the honest feedback.

Perfect.

I will be a one stop shopper and enjoy time for an afternoon cocktail!

The delicate colour suits her and she wears those ruffles instead of the ruffles wearing her like one of those toilet guarding dolls you find in old ladies downstairs toilets.

Chloe – a triumph in elegance! Well done you. And thanks for the FugGirls for pointing this out. You should follow them on twitter – they are great!

I am sure that county councils across the land and the Government for that matter, have heaved a huge sigh of relief that the ice and snow has finally thawed and slid down a grate or gutter somewhere near you.

As pretty as the snow is to look at, it is not pretty to walk on, skid or fall on. And with that thought, I have realised that snow is simply not chic!

What do you wear on a snowy day? If you are not at work, it’s easy. Skinny jeans, OTK boots, a big warm coat and enough woollen hats, scarves and mittens to furnish an Accessorize store.

If you are at work then it’s a whole new problem.

It’s sensible boots to walk to the car, scrape two inches of ice off then drive, or slither, to work. Then it’s a precarious walk, dependent on the grit and salt availability, from the car park into your building – which may or may not have the heating working.

There are just too many things to think about when it snows. A change of shoes, enough layers to keep you warm but not so you look like the Michelin Tyre Man and the obvious horror of falling over.

So it was with great delight that I traveled to work this morning wearing a green scoop neck jumper courtesy of John Smedley and my favourite black pencil skirt from Jigsaw Sartorial bliss and ease!

Let’s hope the cold spell is over!
